Poem- Glimmering Snowflake

Earlier this week, I woke up to a thin layer of snow covering the ground. Though it quickly melted, it was beautiful while it lasted, and it inspired me to write this poem.

I don’t usually write haiku poems, but I thought it would be fun to try it this week, and I ended up writing four put together into one long poem. (Haiku poems don’t normally rhyme, but I made this one rhyme for fun 😊).

Glimmering Snowflake:

Falling from a cloud,

White and shining in the sun,

Landing on the ground.

To the touch, freezing;

Icy pattern intricate,

Always glimmering.

Compared to others

Different; yet beautiful

And significant.

Shining sun appears,

The snowflake begins to melt;

It then disappears.

Let’s Talk!

Do you like snow? Has it snowed where you live this year?

Do you prefer cold or warm weather? Talk to me in the comments!

  2. This is a great poem, Bella! It doesn’t snow where I live, but I like to look at pictures of it. It’s very beautiful! I think I prefer warm weather because I don’t have to lug a big coat and I can crank on the AC. 😄
