Poem- Banana | Guest Post

This week I thought I’d let one of my best friends and fellow writer, Marie Tankersley, post something she’s written and tell a little bit about herself:

Hey! My name is Marie, and I LOVE creative writing. I am currently writing a novel and in my free time will write a poem or short story. I have been writing since I was really young, and ever since I started writing I had a love for it. I am a member of a writing club, and have friends like Bella to critique my writing. I’ve had some bumps in the road with writing, and had to make some changes, but overall my writing journey has been exciting and educating and I can’t wait to learn more!

If you were wondering, I wrote this poem a few years ago. It’s called Banana. I just wish people would appreciate bananas more.

A smooth yellow peel with dots of brown

Something beneath is yet to be found

Your delicious but mushy insides delight me

Some despise you even when your delight is clear to see

They would rather pick a juicy apple or small strawberry

I would never think differently

You may have brown spots upon the outside,

But I would say you look divine
